Abstract details shots of interesting features in a building could be very helpful in conveying the style and quality of a building. Photographs of details that are representative of the overall quality of the building and its decor help boost the illustrative power of a set of images and hence they are commonly used in property brochures alongside general elevation and interior shots.
The job of the photographer is to isolate interesting features of the architecture, when photographing interiors this could include anything from detail shots of cornicing or door handles, light fittings, stair rails or elaborate pieces of furniture and when photographing exteriors this could be unusual structural features, junctions of walls with roofs, windows, doors, etc.
When captured well these photographs along with straight forward general elevation and interior shots could make for a very dynamic brochure. Here are few of detail shots taken from our previous assignments, mostly from the hospitality industry for your inspiration.
